Tobacco Log
I started this tobacco very late in the year. Tobacco is a warm weather plant and usually it is started at the beginning of summer, but I was out of town (in the torment nexus, not for vacation) and had shipping issues getting my seeds so I am starting quite late. My love has a grow light so they will be able to be moved indoors once it starts getting too cool for them. I specifically chose strains of tobacco developed around my area in hopes they would withstand the tempuratures once they start to drop better. This is Virginia Gold tobacco. Also thanks to my friend C for giving me the idea for a grow log. I love putting content on my website. Me and my partner are thinking of dabbling in hydroponics later this year so there may be more in the future.7/17/2025 Seeds planted. They're very tiny. Tobacco's reproduction strategy is to make a lot of tiny seeds and hope that a few survive, so I sprinkled a generous helping on the dirt. Some people germinate them on paper towels first but I didn't see the need to do this.
7/21/2025 Sprouts! I'm pleasently surprised by how many seem to be germinating.
8/9/25 It has a dick now.... this is probably because of all the wood in the soil. I flicked it off and it didn't come back so I guess it's fine.
10/14/25 I think I'm not good at maintaining grow logs. I haven't updated it in a while because I thought there wasn't enough change in the plant, but now I see it's just been going so slowly I don't notice it like when it had first started to grow. But I want to be able to stop and appreciate this more, so instead of giving up on this project I'm going to make a commitment to update it at least once a month.
